Our 3-days tour following in the footsteps of the Duke of Wellington's Anglo-Allied Army and Prince Blücher's Prussians as they fight the French of Napoleon Bonaparte's l'Armée du Nord in the Waterloo Campaign

This three-day tour begins when we collect you from your tour hotel on day one at 09:00 hrs.

Day One: The Opening Moves and Ligny

In the morning we follow in the footsteps of Generalleutnant von Ziethen's Prussian I Army Corps as they defend the crossings over the River Sambre, and fight their delaying actions as they withdraw towards Sombreffe, against the might of Napoleon's l'Armée du Nord on 15 June 1815.

In the afternoon, we head to the mill at Fleurus, where Napoleon set up his headquarters on 16 June 1815, to discuss the prelude to the Battle of Ligny. Moving to the forward edge of Fleurus, we overlook the ground between the French and Prussian Forces to discuss their dispositions and the initial phases of the battle. Dropping down into Saint-Amand, we look at the battle that developed to the west of Ligny between Général Vandamme's French III Army Corps and Generalleutnant von Ziethen's Prussian I Army Corps. Continuing into Ligny, we stop at La Ferme d'En Haut to discuss the battle in the centre before visiting the Battle of Ligny Museum. From the museum we drive to Bussy Windmill, where Prince Blücher set up his headquarters, to discuss the finale of the battle, the Prussian withdrawal, and Napoleon's lost chance.

Our day's touring complete, we head back to your tour hotel where you are free to enjoy your evening.

Day Two: Quatre Bras, and Hougoumont

We depart your hotel at 09:00 hrs and drive onto the battlefield to begin following the Duke of Wellington's Anglo-Allied Army.

In the morning we explore the battlefield between the villages of Frasnes-lez-Gosselies and Quatre Bras. The crossroads at Quatre Bras was a vitally important location for both the Allies and the French and the fighting for its possession between the Prince of Orange's I Corps and Maréchal Michel Ney's left-wing of the l'Armée du Nord played an important part in deciding the outcome of the campaign.

In the afternoon, we head to the battlefield at Waterloo to begin exploring the battle that developed at Hougoumont. Originally designed to draw the Anglo-Allied reserves away from the centre of Wellington's line and the Chaussée, the road from Charleroi to Brussels, the fighting at Hougoumont took on a fluidity if its own, as more and more French troops were committed, and became a 'battle within a battle'.

Our day's touring complete, we head back to your tour hotel where you are free to enjoy your evening.

Day Three: Waterloo and Plancenoit

We depart your hotel at 09:00 hrs and drive out onto the Waterloo battlefield to continue following Wellington's Anglo-Allied Army and Prince Blücher's Prussians as they face Napoleon's l'Armée du Nord at Waterloo.

In the morning we concentrate on the battle that developed on either side of the Chaussée as the French strove to drive Wellington's Anglo-Allied Army off their ridge and open the way to Brussels.

In the afternoon, we look at the arrival of Prince Blücher's Prussians at Plancenoit and examine the effect this had on the battle. We follow this by returning to the main battlefield to discuss the committing of French Old Guard and their defeat, which ultimately led to Napoleon's downfall.

Our tour complete, we head back to your tour hotel where we bid you farewell.
