On one of our Battle of the Somme tours you will explore the battlefields across which the British and Commonwealth forces fought as they strove to drive the German Army back on 1 July 1916 and the three-and-half months of fierce fighting that followed.
Join one of our team of battlefield historians on a tour of the 1916 Battle of the Somme, follow the action and see how the battle developed.
On day one we visit the battlefields associated with 'the Bloodiest Day in the History of the British Army' at Beaumont Hamel, along the Ancre Valley, at Thiepval, Ovillers-la-Boisselle, La-Boisselle, Fricourt; Mametz and Montauban.
Our day's touring complete, we return to your tour hotel where you are free to enjoy your evening.
On day two we visit the battlefields associated with the fighting in the days immediately after the initial attack on 1 July 1916 in the 'Battle of then Woods'. This will include visiting: Bottom Wood, Mametz Wood; Bazentin-le-Petit and Bazentin-le-Grand Woods; High Wood and Delville Wood.
Our day's touring complete, we head back to your tour hotel where you are free to enjoy your evening.
On day three we visit the Australian battlefield at Pozières, the Canadians at Courcelette and the first use of tanks in warfare during the Battle of Flers-Courcelette.
Our tour complete, we head back to your tour hotel where we bid you farewell.
