Join our team of battlefield historians on this one-day tour of the Battle of Crécy. They will tell you about the momentous events that took place and recount stories of the heroic deeds carried out by the soldiers who took part, as they lead you across the ground over which this epic battle was fought.
Our In The Footsteps® One-Day Tour of the Battle of Crécy begins at 08:00 hrs when we collect you from your agreed pick-up location in London and drive to Folkestone to catch the 10:20 hrs Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. On arriving in Calais, we head to Crécy-en-Ponthieu to see the Monument Jean de Luxembourg and the Lanterne des Morts before heading to the southeast of this small town to begin exploring the battlefield area.
On the battlefield, we follow the French Approach, from the Croix de Boheme to the present-day Sugar Beet Factory, before heading along the Vallée aux Clercs to the English line and finally to Crécy Windmill, King Edward III’s Command Post.
We finish our tour by visiting Crécy Grange, the site of the English wagon train, and the Abbaye de Valloires, where many of the wounded were treated.
With our tour complete, we head back to Calais to catch the 18:20 hrs Eurotunnel to Folkestone. On arrival in the UK, we return to London and drop you off at your agreed location at approximately 20:00 hrs.
