Welcome to Our Website

In the footsteps is a family run company that concentrates on offering the personal touch that many of the larger tour operators are unable to achieve. Our aim is to provide you with a top quality battlefield tour service and we pride ourselves on giving our customers a package that is fantastic value, an experience that they will cherish forever.

With In the footsteps you know you are in safe hands. We were the first Battlefield Tour operator to be awarded membership of the European Tour Operators Association and the first to be given the coveted status of Supporter of the Guild of Battlefield Guides.

Our Tour Options

Tailor-made Tours - A tailor-made tour is ideal for those wishing to “follow in the footsteps of heroes” looking at those battles in which they have an interest. They visit the many battlefields of Northwest Europe ranging from the Medieval battlefields of the Hundred Years War and those of the Waterloo Campaign in 1815, to the 1914-18 Great War and the Second World War battles of the 20th Century. They have an itinerary that is compiled just for you, so that you can see what you want to see and visit the battlefield sites that are important to you.

Genealogy Tours - A genealogy tour is one that is more specialised and designed specifically for you. These battlefield tours are ideal for those wishing to “follow in the footsteps” of an ancestor or relative looking at their battles and the places where they fought. A genealogy tour usually requires a degree of research in order to define the itinerary and the itinerary is designed so that you can see where your ancestors fought and visit the battlefield sites associated with them.

Our tailor-made and genealogy tour options are suitable for individuals, couples and small groups.

Group Tours - Our group tour service is ideal for large groups such as a: school, military unit, comrades association, club or organisation that want to tour the battlefields. These battlefield tours can be organised to suit the requirements of the group, in much the same way as a tailor-made tour for individuals or small groups, and can be customised to follow a theme to enable the group to achieve a specific aim.

Dedication

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
